Once I join, when will I receive my new member kit, membership
card, membership pin and first issue of Journal of Laser Dentistry (JLD)?
You will receive your new member packet along with membership card and pin within the first month of your membership. Your Journal and Membership newsletter will be sent to you on a quarterly basis.
How do I log into the members only section of www.laserdentistry.org?
When you receive your new member welcome packet your ALD Membership Card will
include your membership id# and your password for the website. Your
membership id is your access code. You will also receive your membership
card within a month of joining ALD which will also list this id#
and password. You may email memberservices@laserdentistry.org
to obtain your information as well.
How do I update my member directory listing?
You may update your member record online by logging into the Members
Only section of the website and entering the “Update Directory
Listing” section. You may also send an email to memberservices@laserdentistry.org
or contact the office by phone 954-346-3776 x 204, toll free 1-877-527-3776
or fax 954-757-2598.
When are my annual membership dues due?
The membership dues are invoiced to each member late November.
They are to be paid upon receipt with a deadline of January 15th
of each year.
May I automatically pay my membership dues annually?
Dues are invoiced annually. However, if you would like to make
annual automatic payments you can request an automatic payment order
form from ALD. You can terminate this service at any time.
Several of my staff members belong to the Academy. Can
we pay all of our dues at one time?
Yes, please specify who the dues are being paid for and submit
payment to the Academy of Laser Dentistry.
What are the different Types of Membership?
There are several different types of membership in the Academy
aimed to encompass a vast variety of dental professionals as well
as the professional community at large. Membership categories are
as follows:
- Active - Applies to any licensed practicing
dentist. Active members have full voting rights and are eligible
for elected office.
- Affiliate - Includes any non-dental professional,
scientist or physician qualified and recognized in his/her respective
field and not eligible for membership in other categories. Affiliate
members are non-voting.
- Institutional - Applies to any institution
whose sole or primary activity is academic instruction or dental
research. As designated primary representative will receive Academy
mailings and full voting rights. Full-time staff is eligible for
elected office and ALD member privileges, including member rates
for conference registration and certification exams.
- Non-Practicing - Includes any retired or disabled
dentists. This non-voting category is not open to dentists currently
working with a manufacturer or vendor.
Associate- Includes dental auxiliaries, hygienists or office managers interested in obtaining knowledge about laser dentistry. Associate members are non-voting.
- Student - Includes dental or auxiliary students
or residents in an accredited dental school program (non-voting).
- Corporate - Includes any for-profit company or division that developed or sells dental equipment, supplies or services or seeks information, affiliation or interaction with the laser dentistry community. Companies may designate up to three representatives to receive Academy mailings. Corporate Members are non-voting.
ALD Mission
The Academy of Laser Dentistry is an international professional
membership association of dental practitioners and supporting organizations
dedicated to improving the health and well being of patients through
the proper us of laser technology. The Academy actively supports
education and research through its certification programs, publications,
meetings and additional activities. The Academy fosters dialogue
and seeks to build community among its members and dental organizations,
educational institutions, researchers, industry representatives
and others who share this mission.
